Queens Ball Award Nominees Shine
Hello, readers. As we journey together in creating a safe and celebrated environment for all, I'm excited to share some inspiring news with you. The nominations for this year's Queens Ball Awards have been unveiled, and they are a testament to the resilience and dedication of the LGBTQIA+ community.
At TheGoodNewsBlog.org, we strive to uplift inclusive faith communities, support services, and resources for the LGBTI+ community across Australia. It's a journey guided by divine inspiration, and it's a joy to witness the impact of our collective efforts.
As we celebrate the 63rd annual Queens Ball Awards, hosted by Brisbane Pride, we are reminded of the importance of honouring those who lead with love and advocate for equality. From activists to artists, volunteers to performers, each nominee represents a shining example of the diverse talents and passions within our community.
I am honoured to be nominated for both Activist of the Year and Artist of the Year. Through my advocacy work and artistic endeavours, I strive to foster understanding, acceptance, and inclusion. My book, "Faith & Sexuality: Reconciling LGBT+ People and Christianity," is full of love, and I'm humbled by the impact it has had on our community.
I am also grateful to be nominated alongside others like Jo Sampford, whose dedication to the LGBTI Legal Service has transformed lives and shaped a more just world for Queenslanders. Their tireless advocacy embodies the spirit of our community and inspires us all to continue our journey toward inclusivity and justice. I am particularly indebted to Jo and their firm for their assistance with my AHRC case. Their support and guidance were instrumental in reaching a settlement, and I am grateful for their commitment to justice and equality.
But let us not forget the other nominees, whose contributions are equally deserving of recognition. From leaders like Dylan Barett and Necho Brocchi to performers like Yana Michelle and Penelope Cruises, each nominee brings their unique gifts to enrich our community.
As voting opens until June 9, 2024, I invite you to cast your vote and honour those whose contributions have made a difference. Together, let us celebrate diversity, resilience, and the unwavering spirit of the LGBTQIA+ community.
