High-Protein Egg Casserole Recipe
Hi Friends - The latest addition to this blog will introduce a lifestyle section. To kick things off, I want to talk about the significance of starting each day with a substantial protein intake, targeting at least 30g during breakfast. Before relocating to Melbourne, I completed my diploma in nutrition and previously owned a health food store where I met my partner Tristan. Now, it's time for me to rejoin the health movement, start eating well and return to the gym by launching this section of the blog.
High-Protein Egg Casserole Recipe:
Enjoying two pieces of this casserole will provide you with 34g of protein. 💪🏻
This recipe draws inspiration from Starbucks’ popular egg bites but is crafted into a simple-to-make casserole!
Ingredients:
12 large eggs
12oz ground breakfast sausage
1 cup shredded cheese
1 16oz container of cottage cheese (I prefer Barambah Organic 4% milkfat cottage cheese from Woolworths)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a standard 9x13 Pyrex dish.
Cook the sausage in a skillet or saucepan, then drain the fat.
Evenly distribute the cooked sausage over the bottom of the Pyrex dish.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the layer of sausage.
Blend together the eggs and cottage cheese in a blender, then pour over the sausage and cheese layers.
Bake at 180°C for approximately 45 minutes, or until the centre is firm.
Allow to cool slightly, then cut into 12 equal pieces.
Feel free to customise by adding vegetables like cooked broccoli, spinach, or a can of diced green chiles for extra flavour!
