Delicious Baked Apple Crisp: A Sweet Way to Use Up Soft Apples
If you’re like me, you hate to see good apples go to waste, especially when they start to get a bit soft. At our house, we’re total apple crisp enthusiasts 😆, so I’ve perfected a recipe that turns those overripe apples into a scrumptious treat. Give this easy apple crisp a try and let me know what you think in the comments!
Ingredients:
4-5 apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup chopped pecans
5 tablespoons melted butter
2/3 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Sauté the chopped apples in butter until they’re tender. While they’re cooking, sprinkle in a little cinnamon for added flavour.
Once the apples are softened, transfer them to a pie pan or small Pyrex dish.
For the topping, mix together:
1 cup chopped pecans
5 tablespoons melted butter
2/3 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Spread this mixture evenly over the apples.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crisp.
Optional Add-Ons:
To elevate your apple crisp experience, try serving it with a dollop of homemade whipped cream or, if you’re short on time, some Dream Whip from Coles. And of course, a scoop of ice cream would make it even more indulgent!
