Affirming Church Directory (lgbtq friendly churches)
The purpose of this Affirming Church Directory is to offer an online resource where individuals can find and connect with LGBTI+ friendly Christian churches. We include congregations that hold regular in-person gatherings for worship, prayer, service, and community. We also recommend you read our article on Finding an LGBTQ-Friendly Church.

What Does "Affirming" Mean?
“Affirming” describes churches that see homosexuality as non-sinful and actively welcome LGBTQ+ individuals. These congregations promote inclusivity in community life, including leadership roles. Although terms like “gay-friendly” and “welcoming” are related, they can indicate varying degrees of support. It’s essential to recognize that a church’s affirming status can change, so this page should be used as a starting point, as these issues are always evolving. For example, the Uniting Church in Australia permits same-sex marriages, while the Anglican Church in Australia does not, and Metropolitan Community Church is fully affirming or (Queer to the core) and supportive of same-sex marriage.
